We thank you for your interest in our office. If you are in need of quality dental care, you will find our facilities, services, and staff second to none. As a dental team, we strive to make your visit an experience that is both comfortable and informative.
Our mission at Avonlea Dental Clinic in Nanaimo is to first listen carefully to the questions, needs, and desires as raised by our patients. Once we have thoroughly evaluated them, we work diligently to educate and inform them as to available treatments or services that shall help them achieve their dental goals.
Since 1982, some 14,000 patients have sought treatment at our clinic. The youngest has been under one year old and the eldest has been 100 years old. Many patients drive considerable distances from all over south Texas to our clinic. Some have even driven in from the Dallas area, Austin, San Angelo, and the Rio Grande Valley. Most of our patients are hard-working middle class people. A few dentists, attorneys, and physicians have sought our care, as well as one NBA player. We have a special love for pleasing patients with special physical needs. We appreciate the young patients that bring in pictures donning their uniforms for sports, cheerleading, band, etc. New patients are always welcome.
THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD DENTAL HEALTH
It goes without saying that healthy teeth and gums are important. You may not realize that for your overall physical health, it can be detrimental to neglect your teeth. Periodontal disease is a serious condition. More esthetically speaking, a healthy smile can open doors for you. How many people do you know who cover their mouths when they laugh, or have given up smiling because they were self-conscious about the appearance of their teeth? Maybe it is you. You might think that your smile isn’t fixable or that it is too expensive. The dentists in Nanaimo here at Avonlea Dental Clinic provide complimentary smile evaluations for every new patient, and will discuss options for you and your budget. The real question is can you afford not to?
Our office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. In special circumstances, appointments can be arranged for early morning or other times convenient to you.
YOUR FIRST VISIT
Upon arrival, we will greet you with a smile and ask you to fill out a patient acquaintance form and a detailed medical/dental history. Please bring names, addresses, and phone numbers of the physicians who are currently treating you. Also, please bring a list of any prescription medicine and over-the-counter drugs that you are currently taking. If you have insurance coverage, please bring your card. You can either pick up the needed forms prior to your visit, print your forms here, or arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
We recommend that a thorough examination, including comprehensive x-rays, be completed on all new patients. Based on the doctor’s findings, a customized plan of treatment will be discussed. We encourage you and your family to ask questions to clarify any concerns.
